JP Nadda To Flag Off ‘TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – 100 Days Campaign’ On World Tuberculosis Day

Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda is set to flag off the “TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – 100 Days Campaign” on World Tuberculosis Day, marking a major push in India’s fight against tuberculosis.

The national-level event will be held on March 24, 2026, at Gautam Buddha University. It aims to showcase India’s progress and renewed commitment toward eliminating TB under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme. Narendra Modi’s vision of a “TB-Mukt Bharat” continues to guide these efforts.

During the event, Nadda will launch multiple initiatives, including the 100-day campaign, the TB Mukt Bharat App, and the TB Mukt Urban Ward Initiative. These measures are designed to intensify case detection, improve treatment adherence, and strengthen last-mile healthcare delivery, particularly in high-burden regions.

The campaign aligns with the 2026 theme, “Yes! We Can End TB!”, emphasizing collective action, innovation, and community participation. It is expected to bring together policymakers, public health experts, healthcare professionals, and development partners to accelerate progress against the disease.

Officials say the focused 100-day drive will target gaps in detection and treatment while promoting evidence-based strategies. The initiative also builds on recent advancements, including shorter and more effective treatment regimens for drug-resistant TB, aimed at improving outcomes and reducing costs.

India continues to carry one of the world’s highest TB burdens, making such intensified campaigns critical. The latest initiative signals a stronger, multi-sectoral push to eliminate TB ahead of global targets and strengthen public health systems nationwide.
