Sugarcane Breeding Institute Strengthens Tribal Health Awarenes
The Healthblogrr – Sugarcane Breeding Institute has launched a tribal health awareness campaign in Tamil Nadu and Kerala to improve nutrition and preventive healthcare among tribal communities. The initiative focused on issues like anemia, malnutrition, and sickle-cell anemia, while promoting healthy diets through millet seeds, kitchen gardens, and liquid jaggery distribution.

Medical experts conducted awareness sessions on maternal and child health, and tribal women received training in preparing nutritious millet-based foods. More than 200 tribal residents also took a pledge against malnutrition. Officials said the programme aims to combine health awareness, nutrition, and sustainable livelihoods for better community wellbeing.
